Project Manager - FEE

FEE (Fédération des Experts comptables Européens - Federation of European Accountants) is recruiting A NEW PROJECT MANAGER reporting, auditing and assurance to cope with the significant development of its activities.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Reporting to one of our two Directors, FEE Project Managers are in charge of contributing to the Federation's activities and developing its work in their respective areas of responsibilities by:
  • project managing FEE Working Parties
  • monitoring relevant policy and regulatory matters, actively keeping abreast of developments and imparting pertinent information to colleagues and FEE Member Bodies
  • providing in-depth technical analysis
  • writing influential reports and other material such as comment letters, position papers, surveys, briefings, facts sheets, minutes, etc.
  • organising conferences and roundtables

Project Managers are expected to take ownership in their areas of responsibility, while remaining open to new areas of work and to supporting colleagues on other projects.

Reflecting the expansion of the accountancy profession, FEE is active in a growing number of areas including: Reporting and Assurance on Financial Statements, Sustainability, Corporate Governance, Internal Control; and Auditing, Ethics, Financial Reporting and Accounting, Company Law, Internal Market policy, SMEs Policy, Public Sector, Capital Markets, Banks, Insurance, Taxation.

Project Managers may also contribute to FEE operations, including e.g. strategy implementation and representation of the Federation, upon delegation of the Directors or the CEO.

Experience and education

  • Qualified Professional Accountant with higher education degree
  • Preferably at least 4-6 years of successful experience in an accountancy firm (Manager level), with exposure to international audit clients, IFRSs and ISAs

Language and nationality

  • First class written & spoken English, plus, at least, one other EU language
  • Preferably from an EU or EFTA (European Free Trade Association) country

Strong points

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the relevant areas of responsibilities and interest in the other areas of work of the Federation and in EU affairs
  • Excellent project planning, analytical and resolution skills; capacity to operate proactively and autonomously with good reporting skills
  • Good general communication, representation and interpersonal skills; interested to work in a multinational and multicultural environment, open-minded, team spirited, eager to find compromises and contribute to change
  • Generally IT-enabled, proficient with MS Office and internet, Lotus Notes a plus

Project Managers work on the edge of professional developments and may gain high level exposure to the professional and regulatory communities, including the European Commission, audit oversight bodies and the EGAOB (European Group of Auditors' Oversight Bodies), International standard setters (e.g. IASB, International Accounting Standards Board; IAASB, International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board; IESBA, International Ethics Standard Board for Accountants), and other stakeholders such as EFRAG (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group), ECGI (European Corporate Governance Institute) GRI (Global Initiative on Sustainability Reporting) or Eurosif (European Social Investment Forum).
Project Managers have the opportunity to develop professionally in an international environment and to contribute to the promotion and advancement of the European accountancy profession.
